
1. Leaves :- Alkali [kshara] prepared from ash of banana leaves is mixed with flour and made into paste intake of this alleviates stomach disorders.Alkali mixed with turmeric is helpful in skin problems.Leaves are wrapped on wounds for proper healing.
2. Flower ;- Flower is astringent and sweet in taste.The properties are unctousness,heavy and cold.It alleviates Vata,Pitta,blood disorders and emaciation.Banana flowers and Albizia lebbek [shirish] mixed with Pippali[long pepper] are pounded with rice water is helpful in Asthma.Juice of flower are taken as infusion for painful menses.Juice of flowers with curd helps in heavy bleeding during menstruation.
3. Fruits ;- Fruits are used as Raw and Ripe.
[a] Ripe Fruit ;- These are sweet in taste,cold in property and has sweet post digestive effect.It is helpful in hunger,thirst,eye disorders and aids in digestion,Moreover discharge of menstrual blood. Active Nutrients,it is an excellent source of vitamin A,B6,C,D,Potassium,Soluble Fiber and Manganese.It helps increase focus and mental acuity.It helps neutralize acidity,reduces blood pressure risk of stroke and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer.It elevates mood,relaxes the mind.It can be applied as the pulp is helpful in treating the burns and wounds.It can be used as a hair pack for dry hair and as a face pack to prevent wrinkles also helpful in morning sickness.
[b] Raw Fruit :- Raw banana roasted on charcoal relieves difficult or labored respiration.It is cold heavy and unctuous in properties,increases Kapha and alleviates Pitta,Vata,thirst,burning sensation,wounds,emaciation and diabetes.In abdominal problems raw fruits are steamed a little and made into bread,it is taken with curd without fatty layer.
4. Stem ;- Inner tender stem is eaten as a vegetable,juice of stem helps flushing out kidney stones and alleviates disorders of vata and thirst.Its syrup [Sherbet] is helpful for cough.
5. Corm :- It alleviates acidity and burning sensation.It is sweet in taste and cold in property and increases digestive fire,taste and strength.
